I have friends that i call sisters. I have associates that I've called friends. I don't have a best friend. I have many friends. No, I'm not sparing any ones feelings. I'm being perfectly clear. I am my only best friend. I don't lie to myself, i don't let myself down. I love on myself with no conditions. I don't judge or second guess myself. People fail you. So i chose to stay my own best friend. I love everyone involved in my life and those who cherish my friendship as much as I cherish theirs. It only took me 36 years to realize that.

I feel you on that. I least you know that you are a good friend to you. A lot of people don't know how to do that. And, I adore that Brandy joint. Got me reminiscing.

yet, I respect the way you are. You're your own best advocate and really all a "best" friend is comes down to that one who IS there the most when stuff goes down. If it's always you, then I can see how you'd feel that way
I definitely feel what you're saying on this one, Angela. In my years now, the people who are the closest to me I deem more family than "best friends", per se...cause those bonds are deeper than that.
